Jayant Kumar

Jayant Kumar is the Managing Partner of the Firm whose practice focuses on intellectual property laws, litigation & arbitration.

He has significant experience with enforcement actions and litigation pertaining to trademark infringement and passing off, trade name disputes, false advertising, trademark dilution and trademark debasement, domain name disputes, infringement of copyright and related rights, piracy, misappropriation of confidential information, breach of confidentiality, misrepresentation, unjust enrichment, cyber-squatting, unfair trade and anti-competitive practices. In addition to this, he also advises and assists in litigation matters involving patent infringement and invalidity, design piracy and other species of IP.

He has also successfully represented several domestic and international clients in domain name administrative proceedings under the INDRP and UDRP. He has also acted as a Sole Arbitrator in more than 25 domain name dispute complaints.

Jayant works closely with the clients in devising effective and aggressive enforcement strategies, which includes enforcement litigation before various forums, conducting use and entity investigations, drafting and issuing Legal Notices, conducting raids with local officials, registering IP rights with custom authorities, sending notices to ISPs (Internet Service Providers), etc. He also advises clients in strategizing the negotiations carried out with the adversary and on the possibilities of successful and profitable settlement, licenses and also assists in drafting undertakings and settlement agreements.

He has also served as a visiting faculty with Indian Institute of Sustainability, Gujarat University for the year 2022-23 and 2023-24.
